Tuesday was a productive day of trail work on Snakecharmer, aka The Scratch, for Trails 2000’s on Durango’s only sanctioned progressive freeride trail on city-owned open space lands in Horse Gulch.

This rock berm was constructed out of sandstone slabs and dirt. Can't wait to ride it!

Beefy rock berms were installed with lots of sandstone slabs. Lips for jumps were improved, and the landings of gaps jumps were constructed as to minimize the risk of riders badly casing if they came up short while hucking.

Some sections had slabs of sandstone added or were debermed as to acomodate the drainage of rain during storms.

This blogger and about twenty something volunteers showed up to work under the guidance of Dusty Bender and Connor.

Many thanks from this blogger to Trails 2000 for providing the opportunity to do some freeride friendly trail construction!
