Staggering social pressure brought by freeride mountain bike advocates, shortened ski seasons caused by global warming and the need to reign in the leaking tourist dollars spent by riders at bike parks elsewhere have pushed Purgatory Ski Resort in a new, progressive direction.

The strap-on uplift for bikes at Purgatory Ski Resort uses a cam strap to hold your bike to the back of the chair.

On Sept. 13th, the new Divinity Downhill Flow Trail will be opening at Purg, complete with fat berms, table top jumps, a bridge, a wall ride, and lift access.

Grady James and Josh Hamill did most of the work on this trail, which starts next to the top of Lift 4. Trails 2000 volunteers helped with some finish work one day this summer, as well.

Purgatory’s Director of Operations, Mike McCormack told Trails 200o volunteers that plans have been made to *eventually* provide lift-served bike access to the top of the mountain for similar types of trails.

Be there for the opening day, and ride the strap-on uplift for free!
