Facial covering requirement at 9R schools ignores importance of exercise and sunlight
A facial covering requirement alarmingly precludes the encouragement of exercise and sunlight exposure in a written plan of Durango School District 9-R for students and staff.
Specifically, Durango School District 9-R appears to have adopted a three-tiered COVID-19 risk mitigation plan with the intention of safely and effectively managing in-person learning for all students.
As a means for ensuring the health and safety of District 9-R students and staff one of the basic requirements for meeting this goal is to require students to wear a face covering.
Among the core principles that were touted as most effective at minimizing risk, as outlined in the Return to Learn Plan that was published in April of this year are the following:
- Hand Hygiene
- Distancing
- Face Covering
- Vaccination
Furthermore, the three-tiered process goes on with practices that focus on complementing the effect of eachother without ever mentioning some of the basic concepts of wellness that were previously known for their academic credibility.
Facial covering policy excludes exercise and exposure to sunlight
What’s missing from the health and safety practices are the two important concepts of getting exercise and exposure to sunlight.
Since when did exercise get excluded from core principles of health and safety?
The problem with the school districts requirement that students wear masks, as mentioned in the plan, is that it does not allow for students to at least take them off when they are outside where they could be exposed to sunlight and the important vitamin D that comes with it.
The sun’s energy converts a cholesterol in your skin into pre-vitamin D3, which is carried to your liver and then your kidneys to transform it to active vitamin D, according the Harvard Medical School.
Vitamin D derived from sunlight helps to boost people’s immune systems.
Studies from New Orleans, the Phillipines and Indonesia have shown that people who were dying from COVID-19 infections were vitamin D deficient, according to Dr. Rhonda Patrick.
The face covering requirement appears to contribute to the possible vitamin D deficiencies that could be weakening people’s immune systems.
In addition, exercise is an obvious boost to the immune system considering it’s benefits to promoting muscle mass, toning, and cardiovascular health.
So why is getting exercise and exposure to sunlight excluded from the core principles of health and safety in the Return To Learn Plan of Durango School District 9-R?
Facial coverings block expressions and trap bacteria in airways
Coupled with the District’s tiered approach to mitigating health risks is its lack of recognizing the role of visualizing each others facial expressions.
Observing the facial expressions of those around you is crucial for maintaining mental wellness. Requiring facial coverings is detrimental to the mental health of those wearing muzzles and near those who are wearing facial coverings.
Equally important is the problem of facial coverings trapping vapor in your airway and nose, which can lead to bacterial infections.
In the greater context of why the school district has adopted this plan that’s singularly focused on addressing the talking points of public health officials, is the data about deaths among various age groups.
When I look at the provisional data of the CDC that’s tabulated by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, not a single death has been recorded for anyone under the age of 24, but please correct me if I’m wrong.
When so little symptomatic infection and death has been recorded among kids, why are they being pressured to wear bitch muzzles and take vaccines that are suspected of killing over 4,000 people, according to data from the Vaccine Adverse Effects Reporting System?
To summarize, the District 9-R’s Return To Learn Plan ignores proven public health practices of promoting wellness, while simultaneously creating other health problems caused by face muzzles that it is simultaneously ignoring.
A doctrine of declaring people “sick until proven healthy” is no less tyrannical than the draconian Orwellian presumption of deeming the accused of being guilty until proven innocent.
This facial covering requirement should be stopped immediately at all Durango School District 9-R schools.
