DMR’s map of conceptual downhill trail, U.S. Forest Service decision memo gives permission

This is a map of the conceptualized Divinity Downhill trail at Durango Mountain Resort. Upon completion, Divinity Downhill is said to have berms and optional jumps. Work is supposed to begin on the trail this summer. Photo courtesy of Jed Botsford, the Recreation Staff Officer on the Columbine Ranger District.
Very interesting, and possibly positive news. Excited to see this come to fruiting.
I wonder, how this compares to the easement that was done for logchutes (there was an EA completed for it, right? – has it also been made public like this?). Is the acerage the same/less/more?
Either way, good news. I’d travel there to check it out, I’m sure many others will too.

Purg’s acreage was counted at less than five contiguous acres for their trail that’s supposed to be 1.7 miles long at ten feet wide, while the project area for Log Chutes was written as 3.5 miles long and 400 feet wide.
I’m not sure if that’s a comparison of apples to apples.
Some of the DMR’s trail will be on an existing two-track grade.
As for the Log Chutes Environmental Assessment–it has not been completed yet. Columbine District Ranger Matt Jenowiak said that it should be completed by next month.
The acting District Ranger while Jenowiak was on a detail told me a few weeks ago that the Log Chutes EA did not have priority on their list of things to do.
